On The Ground

During initial months of the Vidya Project's establishment, Vrinda spent over three weeks volunteering on the ground at Nai Disha, an education center serving underprivileged children in India. Working as a teacher’s aide and general support staff, she was engaged day-to-day with the very children we hoped to uplift through the Vidya Project. Her time there was valuable, and not only did she build lasting bonds with children and fellow educators, but she also witnessed the need for basic classroom resources, funding, and educational support in these impoverished areas. This firsthand experience deeply shaped the activities of our nonprofit, grounding its mission in lived realities rather than distant assumptions. The warmth of the Nai Disha community has left a mark on her, reinforcing her commitment to making a difference.
